Had a session booked for my daughters and ended up doing a family portrait as well. We had a great experience! The photo shoot is in an historic building with a private space for changing and snacks provided. The photos turned out beautifully, even though my husband and I we not antipating we'd join in the shoot (read as- Mom did not have a full face of makeup and they masterfully made me look and feel beautiful with the studio lighting). I definitely recommend them if you love the look of black and white photos.

CAN I BUY THE PHOTOGRAPHS?

Of course! You will have a fun and white glove reveal and ordering session on Zoom where you look at your stunning portraits, about one week after your shoot, in the comfort of your own home. Should you fall head over heels (which we’re pretty sure you will) with any of your images, we’ll help guide you through the options, ensuring the best fit for you and your family. At that time, you will apply your gift certificate toward the purchase of any of your favorites.

Our artwork starts at $595; and most clients typically spend $1500 and up on their selected portraits.

How Do I Book My Session?

To book your session, please schedule a call with us. We’ll go over the project details and make sure it’s a great fit. We book all of our sessions after a short phone call and that’s when you’ll select your session and Zoom dates. Sessions are limited and are being scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, so please be sure to respond quickly if we contact you.

Our Studio is in Lockhart, close to Austin and not far from San Antonio. Most of our clients drive 30 minutes to 3 hours to come and see us, and often make a day of it here because the town is so historic, walkable and cute. (And BBQ!) Be sure to visit our local art galleries, vintage and antique stores, cafe’s and Bookery that many children–and adults–love! Our physical address is: 103 E. San Antonio Street, Lockhart, Texas, 78644.

We are constantly trying new lighting, backdrops, and posing techniques, so we always need fresh faces for our ever-expanding website portfolios and studio displays. We also tend to select subjects that have a personal meaning to the owners or that address a cause that the Studio is committed to.

No, we are looking for REAL mothers and children for our portfolios. Our clients are real people so we prefer to show real people in our wall displays, on our website, social media and in our portfolios.

Absolutely! We encourage you to bring along other important family members, like a spouse if applicable, or grandparents. There is no charge for additional family members and we’ll include them for a part of your session; for example, at the end.

We block out an hour for your appointment. A standard session takes approximately 30 minutes, depending on the number of people in the family and if there is an outfit change. Most clients prefer to do two “looks” or outfits as part of our projects.

Unfortunately in the past when we offered complimentary sessions without any deposit, we experienced many late cancellations and no shows. We now require a $99 non refundable reservation fee to book your time on the studio’s calendar. The $99 fee is fully applied to any purchase.

No need to worry! Once your session is booked, we’ll send you ideas on what to wear and what works best in B&W and with our studio’s signature style. You can also read our blog post here:

One of our talented portrait designers will review your portraits with you on Zoom within 1-2 weeks after your session, allowing you to experience and reflect on the beauty of your portraits using our fun and efficient selection process and unique software. As you select your favorite portraits, you can order your favorites–the ones that best suit your home, aesthetic and budget, and we’ll help you to feel confident in your decisions.

All orders are placed and taken care of at this meeting as on-line postings and printed proofs to take home are not available. The Zoom reveal is often described as one of our clients’ favorite and most memorable parts of working with us. Please review the Artwork Section of our website to see some of our most popular artwork options and prices for our clients.

An important note: If you are married or partnered, both you and your spouse or partner will not want to miss this Zoom, which currently takes place by appointment on Fridays and Sundays. Why is this? In most relationships, both members tend to like having at least some input (either financial or aesthetic) in the selection process. It’s also emotional, and happy tears can and do often happen. (Bring tissues, just in case!) Too many times, we have heard extreme regret when a partner has not been able to attend so while it is not required, it is strongly encouraged. Second Zoom appointments are scheduled with a fee and can be challenging to accommodate as we are a boutique studio that is booked to a limited capacity so that we may serve our clients at the highest levels of attention and detail.

What we hear over and over from our clients is that their dog has been everything to them, often getting them through a difficult or challenging time with health or relationships. We are passionate about documenting the deeper relationships that make life happier. The bond between women and their dogs is so beautiful and inspiring. It’s a hard fact that we never feel we get enough time with our dogs, and that they leave us too soon.
