JL Studio Booking Policies

About Our Studio

JL Studio is a boutique portrait studio crafting memorable, custom portraits at the highest levels of excellence. Our talented and dedicated portrait team travels from multiple cities—some driving up to 1.5 hours each way– or even flying in from our of the country—to create an exceptional portrait experience for you and your family. We book our sessions in advance to ensure each client receives our full attention and creativity.

Why We Value Your Commitment

Your scheduled time is exclusively reserved for you. When you book with us, we commit our team, equipment, and studio space to creating your portraits.

Booking and Rescheduling Policies

Initial Booking

  • Your session is confirmed once the confirmation fee is paid, securing both your portrait session and Zoom ordering appointment.
  • Full refund available if you cancel within 48 hours of payment
  • After 48 hours:
  • The fee becomes non-refundable. If you choose to cancel, and your fee automatically converts to studio credit for future artwork purchases, valid for up to one year.

Rescheduling Your Portrait Session

We understand that life can be unpredictable and we’ve designed our policies to ensure the best experience for all our clients. Here’s why:

  • Our data shows that after offering complimentary rescheduling, over 90% of those who rescheduled their sessions resulted in a second last-minute cancellation, impacting both our studio and other families who could have booked that time
  • To maintain our high service standards and be fair to all clients, we’ve implemented the following rescheduling policy:

With 7+ Days Notice

  • One-time courtesy reschedule available
  • Your original confirmation fee transfers to the new date
  • Simply text 512.861.8899 to initiate the process

With Less Than 7 Days Notice

  • $100 non-refundable reactivation fee is required to reschedule for any reason
  • This fee helps us:
    • Manage our premium booking system and calendar availability for all clients
    • Reserve your new appointment time with confidence
    • Maintain our exceptional service standards
    • Compensate our dedicated team members who blocked time for your original appointment
    • Reactivate your original confirmation payment and gift certificate value

Appointment Guidelines

Portrait Sessions

  • Please arrive on time—we’ve designed your session timing for optimal results and for full privacy for every client
  • Arrivals 20+ minutes late will result in automatic cancellation

Zoom Reveal/Ordering Meetings

We value your time and want to ensure all our clients have access to our services. To help everyone get the care they need, especially during our busiest periods, we kindly ask for 48 hours’ notice for any appointment changes. Our Zoom appointments often booked out for weeks in advance

  • If you’re 10+ minutes late for your Zoom, we’ll need to reschedule you within 30 days of your portrait session so as not to negatively impact the next appointment after yours and ensure you have enough time for a complete experience.
  • If you’re unable to attend your scheduled Zoom, we’ll happily reschedule it for you for a one-time occurrence at no additional cost. Should you need to reschedule a second time, a $50 non refundable reactivation fee is charged for the new appointment time. This also reactivates your original confirmation payment and gift certificate.
  • Thank you for helping us maintain a schedule that allows us to serve our community effectively. We look forward to meeting with you!
